Dr. Arnold
I’m a Counseling Psychologist with 25 years of experience and have lived on Oʻahu since 2020. I’ve been in private practice since 2016, and before moving to Hawaiʻi, I was an Associate Professor at the University of Texas Health San Antonio. My research focused on treatment interventions and psychosocial issues related to bipolar spectrum disorders. I’ve taught psychology and psychiatry residents a variety of psychotherapy approaches, always emphasizing the influence of cultural and socioeconomic diversity on mental health.
My clinical expertise includes a range of modalities, with a special focus on group therapy, mood disorders, and long-term interventions. I tailor treatment to each client, believing there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. I draw from behavioral, cognitive, dialectical, mindfulness, interpersonal, family/couples, and psychodynamic therapies.
I am passionate about working with individuals, families and groups. Currently, I lead groups in East Honolulu with themes including Adolescent Girls, Young Adults, and Emotional Health & Relationships.
